We are on the lookout for: Business Analyst | Payment Squad

Our Payment Core squad delivers and enhances core banking payment capabilities that enable the processing, routing, settlement, reconciliation and accounting of payments across the bank. The squad focuses on ensuring that payment services are robust, scalable, compliant and seamlessly integrated within the Core Banking platform and the broader banking payment capabilities.

By joining the team as a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for collaborating with business stakeholders, operations teams, architects and IT delivery teams to translate product vision, business requirements and operational challenges into functional specifications and business requirement documents. These serve as the foundation for delivering high-quality payment solutions within the Core Banking environment, ensuring that business needs are effectively translated into technical solutions.

You will play a key role in supporting the evolution of core payment capabilities, including account transfers, domestic and international payments, payment processing workflows, settlement, reconciliation, accounting entries and integration with internal and external payment systems. Working closely with stakeholders across the bank, you will contribute to the delivery of secure, efficient and customer-centric payment services while ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

In this role you will,

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Product Owner, Product designer and Business Sponsor) to understand the product vision, business needs and customer pain points;
  • Write business requirement documents that describe how the product vision and business/customer needs come to life to create a delightful product;
  • Collaborate with team and stakeholders to manage and prioritise product backlog as per business priorities and strategies;
  • Consolidate ‘AS-IS’ process and design ‘TO-BE’ process for the assigned customer journey for validation by relevant stakeholders;
  • Manage effectively dependencies between requirements, through elimination, tracking and planning to enable achievement of product roadmap;
  • Collaborate with the technical team throughout the delivery process to ensure that the team understands the business requirement documents and is on track to deliver the desired customer experience;
  • Undertake process analysis to identify areas for increased efficiency and effectiveness across the entire customer journey;
  • Facilitate collaboration and interactions with relevant stakeholders at each stage of the product delivery cycle to ensure customer needs are met;
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to define and track the Value at Stake by providing detailed analysis on benefits of features;
  • Work closely with the squad Product designer to communicate and align on design of new features and components based on priorities established;
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the test scenarios are complete and assist in conducting some end to end testing to ensure that they are built according to specifications;
  • Document functional requirements including user flows, user story mapping, user stories and acceptance criteria and assist with documentation of technical and non-functional requirements;
  • Prepare training documentation for and train end users on new product/ service / processes new features prior to product launches;
  • Provide support to end users post rollout by assisting in the use of new products and resolution of issues raised;
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of technology and be comfortable questioning and challenging ideas during technical discussions;
  • Keep abreast of best practices and updates in the sector (market/industry/segment trends, customer insights, emerging/disruptive technologies).

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of:

  • A Degree in Business Management, Information Technology or related field;
  • 3 years’ working experience in the Banking Industry with a strong understanding of payments ecosystem including payment journeys, digital payment channels and payment processing flows.

OR

  • A diploma in Business Management, Information Technology or related field;
  • 5 years’ working experience in the Banking Industry with a strong understanding of payments ecosystem including payment journeys, digital payment channels and payment processing flows.

A combination of both qualifications and experience will be considered.

You will also be required to demonstrate:

  • Hands-on experience in requirements gathering for complex projects with proven examples of successful implementation will be an advantage;
  • Understanding and familiarity with requirements techniques such as user stories will be an advantage;
  • Ability to undertake detailed analysis using appropriate tools;
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills;
  • Exhibit a growth mindset and a willingness to be challenged;
  • Demonstrate a customer focus with the ability to empathise with customer needs.
