About the opportunity
Trideca is placing a mid-level Business Analyst with a leading consumer finance organisation in Sydney. The role sits within a strategic, multi-phase lending platform transformation programme focused on origination and loan management systems.
The problem being solved
Our client has identified gaps in their loan management system's ability to orchestrate loan servicing activities and workflows. The programme objective is to ensure business continuity by systemising loan servicing functionality in a dedicated system — while using the opportunity to optimise processes and integrate seamlessly with the broader lending platform.
What success looks like in the first 3–6 months
Programme context
This role is part of a multi-phase lending platform programme. Phase 1 covers mortgages, with subsequent phases extending to other financial products.
The BA profile
This is a process and business-focused BA role. Candidates who started out in technical analysis are welcome, but deep API or architecture experience is not required — solid BA fundamentals and the ability to engage with technical teams is what matters. You won't just translate requirements; you'll be expected to challenge stakeholders and drive genuine process improvement.
We're looking for someone with 3–5 years of BA experience. Industry background is open — financial services is not a prerequisite, and candidates from customer service or other non-traditional backgrounds are genuinely considered. We're not looking for the most senior person in the room; we want someone adaptable, curious, and willing to get stuck into unfamiliar territory.
What we're really hiring for
The hiring decision is weighted heavily on personality and fit. The ideal candidate is dynamic and adaptable — someone who brings energy to new challenges, communicates with confidence, and earns the trust of both business stakeholders and engineering teams quickly. Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn will take you further in this role than a long CV.
Stakeholders
Primarily operational teams across credit and customer service, alongside compliance and an internal product owner representing external partner channels. Key contacts are in Sydney and Melbourne.
Delivery and team
Hybrid Scrum delivery within a central function. You'll join a team of six BAs, working day-to-day with a Programme Product Owner and Product Owner in Sydney, Operations SMEs in Melbourne, and Compliance in Sydney.
