Business Analyst, Insurance Focus (P&C and Claims)
We are seeking a high-performing Business Analyst to contribute to our dynamic team. This role requires 8 - 12 years of industry experience, with a specific focus on property and casualty (P&C) insurance and Claims processing. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for analyzing complex business requirements, driving process improvements, and engaging with cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Product Managers across different teams to consolidate support and enhancement requests tracked as Jira X-Stories.
Partner with stakeholders to fully understand requirements and translate them into clear, detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
Work closely with the Claims processing team's stakeholders to effectively prioritize workload, encompassing both cross-product requests and internal maintenance tasks.
Own and maintain the Jira backlog, ensuring it is current for a rolling 90-day period.
Execute thorough requirements and root cause analysis.
Lead detailed grooming sessions for backlog items in preparation for implementation.
Liaise with the technical team to ensure all solutions align with established business requirements and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8 to 12 years of experience as a business analyst in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on property and casualty (P&C) insurance.
- Solid understanding of insurance products, business rules, underwriting processes.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects within the insurance and finance domains.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, with the ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar credentials are a plus.
