PermanentFinning Canada is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst II to play a critical role in delivering enterprise transformation initiatives that drive operational excellence across our business. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of business strategy, process improvement, and technology innovation while partnering with stakeholders across Finning.

As a Business Analyst II, you will serve as a trusted advisor and liaison between business teams, technology partners, and vendors to identify opportunities, define business requirements, and deliver impactful technology solutions. A key focus of this role will be supporting and optimizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 capabilities across the organization, helping ensure that business processes are scalable, efficient, and aligned with strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis expertise with hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics environments, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise solution delivery. You are naturally curious, analytical, and collaborative, with a passion for leveraging technology to solve complex business challenges and enhance the employee and customer experience.

What You'll Do

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of business and system requirements across multiple enterprise initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, process-mapping sessions, surveys, and requirements-gathering activities.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, business process designs, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure full traceability of requirements throughout solution design, development, testing, and implementation phases.
  • Support solution evaluations and provide recommendations that align business objectives with technology capabilities.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Enterprise Solutions

  • Partner with business and technology teams to maximize the value of Microsoft Dynamics 365 platforms, including CRM, ERP, Customer Service, Sales, Field Service, Finance, or Supply Chain capabilities.
  • Analyze current-state Dynamics processes and identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and enhanced user adoption.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and solution architects to design and implement Dynamics-based business solutions.
  • Support Dynamics enhancements, integrations, upgrades, data analysis, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on business processes supported by Microsoft Dynamics and related enterprise applications.

Process Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Model current and future-state business processes using workflow diagrams, process maps, and data flows.
  • Identify efficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities through business process analysis.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels, from frontline operations to senior leadership.
  • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project impacts, benefits, and recommendations.
  • Contribute to organizational change initiatives by helping ensure successful solution adoption and business readiness.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Research emerging technologies, business analysis practices, and industry trends to support innovation.
  • Promote best practices in requirements management, documentation, and solution delivery.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Finning's business analysis standards, methodologies, and tools.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise business and technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering, documenting, and validating complex business and system requirements.
  • Strong experience creating process maps, workflows, use cases, data models, and future-state business designs.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and leading requirements discussions within medium-to-large organizations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM and/or ERP platforms), including business process analysis, solution enhancement, implementation, optimization, or support.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 modules such as Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related applications.
  • Experience working within Microsoft's technology ecosystem, including Power Platform, SharePoint, Azure DevOps, and Power BI.
  • Understanding of system integrations, data flows, and enterprise application ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of BABOK principles and business analysis best practices.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or other requirements and backlog management tools.
  • Exposure to large-scale transformation programs within industrial, equipment, manufacturing, or field service organizations.
