About the Role
Supports day-to-day business operations by managing report requests, maintaining data accuracy, and ensuring reliable information delivery across assigned business units. This role emphasizes hands-on data analysis, troubleshooting, and basic to moderate report generation, with a focus on execution and strategic design.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides data-driven insights to bank-level managers, including retail, loan servicing, and credit teams. Responds to data requests by reviewing existing reports, offering alternative solutions when the exact data is unavailable, ensuring that all stakeholders receive relevant and actionable information.
- Masters and maintains expertise in internal software and report writing systems by proactively learning updates, utilizing vendor resources, and staying informed on changes that impact business analytics. Demonstrates self-sufficiency in understanding and applying new features to improve report and analytic processes.
- Develops a strong understanding of the systems generating data by exploring data sources and learning system structures. Uses this knowledge to ask the right questions to clarify business needs, and translates them into comprehensive, accurate reports. Regularly creates data extracts for various interfaces.
- Builds strong relationships with management teams to become the primary point of contact for report requests, assessing availability and feasibility. Develops guides for managers on how to pull reports, serving as the subject matter expert for department leads. Collaborates with other areas to review and update procedures, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the organization.
- Analyzes and recommends solutions to report requests to improve efficiency, considering system capabilities, automation, and the overall impact on stakeholders. Provides summary reports to requestors, highlighting key insights, benefits, and potential cost savings.
- Actively develops proficiency in the automation software's functionalities by independently handling low-risk requests and contributing to projects that utilize the software and data analytics.
- Administers the customer relationship management software, adding and deleting users, setting up permissions and queues, and managing the product by creating new service events.
Skills and Qualifications
- Clearly convey information, both verbally and in writing, so others can understand complex data and instructions.
- Prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Works efficiently with others toward a shared goal, including sharing knowledge and seeking input.
- Process and verify information with precision, minimizing errors and ensuring the integrity of data.
- Identity issues, analyze root causes, and determine logical, practical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking/Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience with data analysis or reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, advanced functions of Excel, etc. is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in banking operations, including familiarity with regulatory requirements and an understanding of front-line functions is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, analyzing, and improving business processes is preferred.
