Formosa Plastics offers a full line of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene and polypropylene resins, caustic soda and other petrochemicals that deliver the consistency, performance and quality that customers demand. We market our polypropylene and polyethylene resins under the Formolene® tradename; we market our suspension PVC and specialty (dispersion) PVC resins under the Formolon® tradename. We also produce and sell caustic soda, ethylene dichloride, commercial bleach and hydrochloric acid.

BUSINESS ANALYST II
POSITION OBJECTIVE
• Support and enhance data integrity and procedural effectiveness by proactively identifying improvement opportunities and driving system enhancements. Collaborate with System Analysts and cross-functional teams to implement solutions that streamline data processing and improve overall business operations, while ensuring alignment with business requirements and internal standards.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
• Collaborate with end users and system analysts to define and refine system specifications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and corporate standards.
• Evaluate work requisitions and recommend system enhancements or process improvements, leveraging strong business knowledge to assess feasibility, impact, and priorities.
• Analyze system-generated exception and abnormal reports, identify root causes, and recommend control enhancements and process improvements to strengthen operational effectiveness.
• Conduct and analyze QA/QC testing activities, validate system functionality against specifications, coordinate issue resolution, and ensure timely and accurate reporting of defects.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including system specifications, process flows, and user guides; deliver effective user training and support adoption.
• Actively participate in and support Train-the-Trainer programs; facilitate knowledge transfer and provide ongoing guidance to end users across departments/divisions.
• Design and enhance query reports and dashboards; perform data analysis to support business operations and decision-making.
• Develop, standardize, and continuously improve corporate procedures and system SOPs to enhance consistency, efficiency, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct benchmarking to identify best practices; proactively recommend and support implementation of system and process improvements.
• Support Internal Audit activities, including audit preparation, checklist development, and follow- up on findings to ensure proper resolution and control alignment.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and promote adherence to internal controls and company policies.
• Propose and align individual objectives with departmental goals; take ownership of assigned initiatives and drive execution according to defined milestones.
• Provide data-driven analysis and actionable recommendations to support management decision- making and operational improvements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in business or system analysis, with demonstrated expertise in advanced skills relevant to the role. Proven experience in training or coaching others is preferred.
• Experience in project management or demonstrated competency in managing projects effectively
• Practical experience in functional system design and integration across multiple ERP platforms, with a strong understanding of data flows and business process logic within ERP environments.
• Familiarity with the AS/400 platform and Work Query for reporting and business analysis-related data retrieval is preferred.
• Experience with PowerPlay, Power BI, and portal-based reporting tools for data analysis and insights generation is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word, for analysis, reporting, and effective stakeholder communication.
EDUCATION
• A four-year college degree is required.
• A major in Business, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Science related majors, and/or an advanced degree is preferred.
