Your Opportunity

At Mission Australia Housing, we believe safe, secure housing is the foundation for a better life. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are looking for a passionate and strategic Business Analyst – Housing Transformation to help shape the future of our housing operations.

This is more than a traditional BA role. You’ll act as the connector across process, systems, data, compliance, performance, and service delivery — ensuring quality, sustainability, and service excellence. You will translate insights into action and design future solutions that are measurable which will directly impact residents, frontline teams and organisational performance. If you thrive in complexity, enjoy connecting dots across functions, and want your work to genuinely improve people’s lives — this is your opportunity.

You’ll lead holistic diagnostics to uncover root causes, integrate insights across housing operations, and co‑design future‑state processes and improvements that uplift consistency, compliance, and service experience. You will work across functions to embed changes in practice, strengthen governance, support adoption, and ensure improvements are sustainable and measurable.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, understands interconnected operational environments, has a systems thinking mindset and wants to drive real transformation across the housing operating model.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead holistic diagnostics across service delivery, systems, finance, policy, and compliance to uncover root causes and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Translate insights into clear problem statements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable, scalable future‑state designs.
  • Co‑design improved processes, system requirements, and data models aligned to policy, contracts, and organisational constraints.
  • Facilitate workshops and decision forums with leaders and frontline teams to drive alignment and integrated solution design.
  • Ensure all recommendations embed compliance, data integrity, risk controls, and alignment with organisational governance frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement by applying systems thinking and exploring ethical automation and analytics to uplift housing operations.

Requirements for Success

  • Tertiary qualifications in business analysis, data analytics or related disciplines
  • Proven ability to conduct holistic diagnostics, using quantitative and qualitative methods (root‑cause analysis, workflow observation, trend analysis, stakeholder interviews) to uncover systemic issues and operational improvement opportunities, as well as areas of success and identifying further opportunities to enhance & build on that.
  • Strong capability in current‑ and future‑state process mapping, drafting user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and converting insights into scalable, measurable solution designs.
  • Strong experience in business analysis within complex operational environments
  • Systems‑thinking mindset, with the ability to understand interdependencies across process, systems, data, compliance, risk, and service outcomes and design improvements accordingly.
  • A passion for meaningful change and a continuous improvement mindset and interest in innovation and analytics
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience in housing, community services, or not-for-profit sectors will be highly regarded
  • Valid Working with Children Check

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, referee checks, and WWCC.

Your benefits

  • Rewarding work – every day you know you’re making a real difference
  • Not-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax (details via AccessPay)
  • Free external, confidential counselling and access to chaplaincy support
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Extra leave available including an additional public holiday, additional annual leave day on your work anniversary and the opportunity to purchase further annual leave
