We are seeking a commercially minded Business Analyst (Finance) to join our finance team in Perth. This role plays a key part in supporting business leaders across Australia, New Zealand, PNG, and other locations by delivering financial insights, analysis, and performance reporting that drive effective business decisions.
Working closely with the Business Controller and FP&A team, the Finance Business Analyst partners with General Managers responsible for their respective Lines of Business (LOB). The role focuses on developing financial parameters, supporting long-range planning, budgets and forecasts, and providing insightful analysis to monitor both short- and long-term financial performance.
Responsibilities include however, not limited to:
Conduct weekly and monthly financial performance reviews for allocated business lines.
Track progress against revenue and LC targets and highlight variances.
Monitor and drive reduction of aged open commitments including Debtors and GRNI.
Manage revenue and cost accruals, prepaid transactions, and ensure compliance with the matching principle.
Oversee core business line finance functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, GRNI, and Open Purchase Orders, ensuring adherence to group policies.
Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards (IFRS15).
Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews in line with ICoFR compliance requirements.
Act as a key point of contact for audit requirements in conjunction with the Financial Controller and Business Controller FP&A.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as CA or CPA (or working towards).
Experience in statutory reporting within a medium to large organisation.
Strong understanding of financial accounting standards and finance processes.
Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills.
The ability to work autonomously and proactively influence business outcomes.
