Major Responsibilities:

As a member of the Business Process Solutions unit, the Business Analyst Corporate Services is responsible to:

  • Document and analyze business processes, screens and report layouts, and conduct data flow analysis and business process modelling
  • Conduct analysis to measure the effectiveness of technology solutions and service delivery methods and processes
  • Conduct workshops with stakeholders to elicit and document business, system and technology requirements
  • Monitor and support delivery of customized training programs in the use of mobile applications, mobile devices and mobile business processes. Provides support and troubleshooting service to end-users and staff with mobile business process issues and Maximo application support problems
  • Design or modify business processes and information technology solutions for administering the delivery of service and tracking the cost and effectiveness of service delivery
  • Develop test strategies, plans and scripts and execute and document tests of technology solutions and business processes
  • Prepare business cases, business plans, project charters, project plans, RFI/P/Qs and other formal project documentation
  • Assist with implementing upgrades to Maximo software and/or associated applications and performs testing, workshops, documentation and other related tasks as required
  • Prepare reports to management, supporting recommendations on changes in technology solutions, business methods and business processes including appropriate staffing levels, resource allocation, etc.
  • Prepare, or contribute to technology solutions including use cases, use case models, and supplementary specifications including screen mockups, report mockups and business rules
  • Conduct studies on the feasibility of integrating technology and processes to deliver a range of services to a specific client or to a geographic location


Key Qualifications:

  1. Post secondary graduate in business, engineering, computer science or other related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience with analysing business processes, business process re-engineering, conducting workshops, information systems, accounting or statistics in combination with a working knowledge of maintenance processes or Facilities Management.
  3. Experience with supporting, testing and analysing mobile applications, mobile business processes and mobile devices
  4. Skills, knowledge and experience with Maximo Application Suite, specifically Tririga or Maximo Asset Management
  5. Experience with preparing, organizing and presenting project documentation (e.g. business case, feasibility study, project plans).
  6. Experience in organizing and managing projects and processes including providing work direction to work teams associated with projects.
  7. Highly developed interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and present detailed research proposals, methodologies, policies, standard project plans and reports.
  8. Computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio
  9. Extensive analytical, conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
  10. Ability to identify risks by thoroughly assessing implications of proposed solutions.
  11. Ability to effectively manage workload with strict time constraints.
  12. Ability to work effectively as a team member and work collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary team.
  13. Knowledge or experience of Facilities Management / Maintenance would be an asset.
  14. Familiarity with government legislation in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.
  15. Ability to travel to offsite locations as required.
