Buckland is looking for a Business Analyst, Client Delivery

What you’ll be doing

The Business Analyst is a responsible for ensuring successful release of solutions between application users and application developers, independently owning requirements, testing, and documentation for client and business unit projects of moderate complexity. This role is a crucial component in organizing, determining, and delivering strategic project deliverables across technology, process, and people.

The successful Business Analyst pairs a solid foundation of institutional knowledge with active, continued learning, staying current on modern BA practices, tools, and industry trends while deepening expertise in Buckland's systems and the customs and logistics domain. This role begins giving knowledge back: cross-training peers, supporting junior analysts, and ensuring their expertise can be used by other BAs and areas of the business.

You will be responsible for

• Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Independently plan and lead requirements elicitation with end users and stakeholders, producing clear, testable, and business-aligned requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Ticket Documentation & Quality Standards: Model high-quality ticket documentation in JIRA, ensuring traceability from requirements through testing and deployment, and holding work to established standards even under delivery pressure.
• Problem Understanding Facilitation: Facilitate discovery and problem-understanding meetings with clients and business stakeholders, ensuring the right problem is defined before a solution is scoped or built.
• Quality Assurance & Testing: Develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases; lead UAT sessions and defect remediation, ensuring solutions meet requirements before deployment.
• End-User Training & Adoption Support: Create training materials and support end-user training and adoption activities, helping client and internal teams confidently use new solutions post-implementation.
• Continued Learning & Institutional Knowledge: Pair deepening institutional knowledge of Buckland's systems, clients, and domain with continuous learning of modern practices, tools, and technologies.
• Cross-Functional Training & Knowledge Sharing: Cross-train with other BAs and business areas, document reusable knowledge, and mentor junior analysts so expertise benefits the whole practice, not just individual projects.
• SDLC & Process Improvement: Apply SDLC principles and fundamentals across projects, and contribute improvements to BA templates, standards, and playbooks based on lessons learned.
• Automation & Efficiency Identification: Stay curious in identifying labor-intensive, manual tasks across the business that are candidates for automation and efficiency gains.
• AI Growth & Applied Adoption: Grow working proficiency with AI tools in requirements, testing, and documentation workflows, identifying practical use cases, applying them to real deliverables, and sharing what works with peers.

What we need from you

• Post-secondary education in computer science, business, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, preferably in logistics, brokerage, or SaaS environments.
• Certification (or working towards) in Business Analysis is an asset (e.g. CCBA, CBAP, or equivalent); additional certification in QA/testing (e.g. ISTQB) or Agile is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience writing formal requirements, test plans, and test cases, and leading UAT activities.
• Hands-on, intermediate working knowledge of JIRA, including requirements traceability and reporting.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve quality or efficiency in analysis, documentation, or testing work, with an active interest in expanding that skill set.
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment, familiar with Agile events and working alongside Product Owners, testers, and other stakeholders.
• Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead discovery sessions and workshops with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and solutions-oriented, with a commitment to knowledge sharing, team success, and client satisfaction.
• Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
• Valid Passport ability to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MEX.
