We are competent in providing primary and remedial (P&A) oilfield cementing services, downhole isolation technologies, soil stabilization and fluid services. Many of these services can be applied across various industries, such as oil & gas, agriculture, construction, roads and infrastructure, laydown yards, and retention ponds. Reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain and Innovation, the Business Analyst is responsible for investigating, coordinating, and facilitating projects and strategic initiative initiation, planning, tracking, and completion across the IT and Finance departments, including initiatives that will have impact on other departments. The position facilitates the flow of project management functions as well as liaises with staff and external parties to accomplish the company’s objectives. This individual is responsible for in-depth job costing of Magnum’s service lines, the evaluation of credit risk, and other quantitative analysis to support business decisions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Initiative Determination
• Complete job costing and data analysis for Magnum’s service lines.
• Utilize financial analysis and market trends to maintain Magnum’s credit risk matrix.
• Support the Corporate Services team by completing various quantitative analyses.
• Provide insight into inefficiencies and opportunities using data-driven models.
• Perform market research to determine market trends, sizing, and participants for strategic initiatives.
• Create financial modelling to determine financial viability, profitability, and required resources for strategic initiatives.
• Write and present analyses and recommendations.
• Recommend action plans for proceeding with approved strategic initiatives.
• Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
• Interact with all business stakeholders to fully understand existing problems and needs. Identify the defects in current process models and propose solutions.
• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
• Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies.
• Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
• Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
Initiative Management
• Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements while managing competing resources and priorities.
• Map out process for all potential projects for departments, as needed. Outline the scope of work, budgets, phases, milestones, and timelines for each project.
• Allocate resources and maintain cost efficiency.
• Monitor project progress and performance by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
• Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports.
• Report out and present regularly to stakeholders and Senior Management on project actions, findings, and timelines.
• Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
• Ensure all finalized deliverables are satisfied within the company.
Internal Support
• Maintain user confidence and protect the Operations department by keeping information confidential.
• Stay up to date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
• Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation. Provide helpdesk support and train users.
• Maintain system protocols by developing, managing, implementing, and updating procedures and policies in order to improve or support efficiency and accommodate company requirements.
• Work with individuals or groups to increase employee buy-in, adoption, and usage.
• Identify resistance and work to overcome it. Develop and utilize tools and training to assist employees with changes to processes, systems, and/or technology.
• Act as a liaison between the business and IT and Finance teams.
• Communicate effectively with clients and staff to maintain company’s reputation for quality service.
• Act as a primary resource for matters related to project development and project management.
• Create documents such as templates, reports, and presentations.
Other
• Participate in training and development activities.
• Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Required
• Post-secondary education, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Management.
• Prior work experience in energy, banking, or financial services industries.
• Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
