Job Description

Group Overview

The TP ICAP Group is a world leading provider of market infrastructure.

Our purpose is to provide clients with access to global financial and commodities markets, improving price discovery, liquidity, and distribution of data, through responsible and innovative solutions.

Through our people and technology, we connect clients to superior liquidity and data solutions.

The Group is home to a stable of premium brands. Collectively, TP ICAP is the largest interdealer broker in the world by revenue, the number one Energy & Commodities broker in the world, the world’s leading provider of OTC data, and an award winning all-to-all trading platform.

Founded in London in 1866, the Group operates from more than 60 offices in 27 countries. We are 5,200 people strong. We work as one to achieve our vision of being the world’s most trusted, innovative, liquidity and data solutions specialist.

This is an AI-Augmented Business Analyst role within the Corporate Functions Technology team, part of the TP ICAP Technology division. The role combines traditional business analysis disciplines — requirements elicitation, stakeholder communication, process mapping — with modern AI-assisted ways of working to drive productivity, quality, and speed of delivery.

The focus will be working across the delivery portfolios for the Brokerage & Pricing organisations, with a particular emphasis on leveraging AI tooling to extract logic from legacy codebases, automate documentation workflows, and provide rapid, evidence-based responses to business and technology queries.

Role Responsibilities

Business Analysis (Core)

  • Elicit, analyse, and document requirements for Technology projects, producing clear, concise artefacts including User Stories, Business Process Flows, Gap Analyses, and Impact Assessments.

  • Lead requirements gathering and process definition workshops with business stakeholders; proactively ensure sign-off from senior Business and Technology stakeholders.

  • Monitor, track, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies on analysis and requirements work.

  • Contribute to business architecture and business solution design alongside Solution Architects and Development teams.

  • Support User Acceptance Testing definition and end-user training.

AI-Assisted Analysis & Legacy Migration

  • Use AI tools (e.g. LLMs, code-reading agents) to review and interpret source code, extracting business logic and rules from legacy systems to support migration to modern platforms.

  • Produce logic mapping documentation between legacy and target systems, ensuring completeness and traceability of business rules through the migration lifecycle.

  • Respond to business and technology queries by leveraging AI to interrogate the codebase directly, providing rapid, evidence-based answers rather than relying solely on tribal knowledge.

  • Validate AI-generated outputs against domain expertise to ensure accuracy and business alignment.

Automation & Productivity

  • Use MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations and automation tooling to publish and maintain documentation directly in Confluence and JIRA, reducing manual overhead and keeping artefacts current.

  • Automate repetitive analysis tasks — such as impact assessments, data mapping, and requirement traceability — using AI-assisted workflows.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline BA processes through AI and automation, setting a standard for the wider team.

AI Agents, Steering & Skills Guidance

  • Evaluate, configure, and steer AI agents (e.g. coding assistants, documentation agents, query-response agents) to support delivery within the Brokerage & Pricing portfolio.

  • Provide skills analysis and practical guidance to teams within Corporate Services on effective use of AI tools in their day-to-day work — including prompt engineering, agent configuration, and output validation.

  • Act as a point of reference for AI-first ways of working within the BA discipline, championing responsible adoption and sharing best practices across the Technology division.

Experience / Competences

The chosen candidate will be an excellent communicator, a self-starter, comfortable working in complex environments, and genuinely curious about how AI can enhance — not replace — rigorous business analysis.

Knowledge

  • Expert understanding of back-office and accounts receivable processes, including trading fee schedules, invoice generation, ledger management, cash collection, and cash allocation.

  • Working knowledge of Accounts Receivable systems such as Oracle Financials (desirable).

  • Good understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle, including trading, middle/back-office (booking, clearing), on-boarding, and reference data (desirable).

  • Understanding of the full project lifecycle from requirements capture through to implementation and delivery.

  • Familiarity with AI/LLM tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) and how they can be applied to code comprehension, documentation generation, and query resolution.

  • Awareness of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and API-driven automation for integrating AI agents with enterprise tools (Confluence, JIRA, GitLab).

Experience

  • Proven experience operating as a Business Analyst in Financial Services Technology.

  • Experience in an Agile development environment and good knowledge of Agile processes.

  • Experience — or demonstrable interest — in using AI tools to support analysis, documentation, or code comprehension (this can include personal projects, certifications, or self-directed learning).

  • Experience supporting legacy system migrations, including logic extraction and mapping (desirable).

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

  • Ability to use AI to read and interpret code to extract business logic and validate AI-generated outputs.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects whilst managing differing priorities.

  • Self-starter who identifies tasks independently and works effectively as a team member.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong stakeholder management and presentation skills at all levels.

  • Ability to provide detailed, meaningful interpretation of information in a concise manner.

  • Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.

  • Comfortable experimenting with new AI tools and workflows, with a bias towards practical application over theory.

  • Skilled in Microsoft applications, inclusive of MS Visio and/or BPMN 2.0; familiarity with Confluence and JIRA.

  • Service-oriented, adaptable, resilient, and results-driven with personal accountability.

Role Band & Level: Professional, 5
