Location Requirements DCY’s core hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DCY divisions. Employees may begin as early as 7:00am & as late as 9:00am, based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DCY’s office space.
In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team that supports the development, enhancement, and day to day use of Ohio’s home visiting, early intervention, and other child serving program information systems. You will work closely with data system professionals, technical staff, and program personnel to ensure that the state’s information systems meet federal and state requirements and effectively support the families and communities they serve. A key part of your work involves staying current on program policy and translating those policies into system requirements. You will help interpret federal and state statutes so that system design and updates remain compliant. You will review system design documents, define performance criteria, and develop realistic test scenarios to ensure that new features and program applications function as expected. You will also conduct system testing, assist with data conversion, and support the implementation of new system components. This position also includes significant communication and training responsibilities. You will create marketing materials, user guides, procedure manuals, and webinars for partner agencies and system users, such as Home Visiting Programs, Early Intervention Programs, and Family and Children First Councils. You will provide help desk support, respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot problems, and develop training sessions that help users navigate systems confidently and maintain program compliance. Your work will also involve monitoring system use across counties, identifying challenges, recommending corrective actions, and contributing to federal and state reporting through data analysis and report creation. You may participate in the development or revision of program policies, prepare formal responses to inquiries from government officials and the public, and represent the state’s systems at meetings, workshops, and conferences. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology and human services, who is comfortable interpreting policy, who communicates well with diverse audiences, and who can balance detailed system work with user support and training.Pay InformationUnless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years.
