Job Summary
The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, documenting, and improving business processes across the organization, with a primary focus on supporting and optimizing the Epicor ERP platform within a contract manufacturing environment. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring operational processes are standardized, scalable, documented, and aligned with company objectives.
The ideal candidate possesses strong process mapping and documentation skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, and experience supporting ERP systems in environments with complex customer requirements, production workflows, inventory controls, and supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Analysis & Design
- Analyze current business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, customer service, engineering, and quality functions.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify business requirements, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Design future-state business processes that improve efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and customer service.
- Develop and maintain process maps, workflows, SIPOC diagrams, value stream maps, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure process documentation remains current and reflects operational best practices.
- Lead process standardization efforts across departments and acquisitions.
Epicor ERP Support & Optimization
- Act as a functional resource for Epicor ERP modules including:
- Partner with business leaders to identify ERP enhancement opportunities and drive system adoption.
- Translate business requirements into Epicor configurations, workflows, dashboards, BAQs, reports, and automation solutions.
- Support ERP upgrades, testing, implementation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with troubleshooting business process and system issues.
- Develop and maintain ERP-related documentation, training materials, and user guides.
Contract Manufacturing Process Improvement
- Support processes related to: Make-to-order manufacturing, Contract and private-label manufacturing, Customer-specific requirements, Product cost tracking, Job management, Production scheduling, Inventory management, Lot traceability, and Quality assurance.
- Evaluate production and operational workflows to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance data accuracy.
- Work closely with operations leadership to improve ERP utilization across manufacturing and warehouse functions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
- Gather and document functional and business requirements.
- Create business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, workflow diagrams, and process narratives.
- Serve as liaison between business teams, ERP administrators, developers, consultants, and third-party vendors.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate solutions meet business requirements.
- Maintain change management documentation and process controls.
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Analyze operational and ERP data to identify trends, process bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards supporting manufacturing performance.
- Support management reporting for production, inventory, quality, and customer service metrics.
Training & Change Management
- Develop training materials and standardized procedures.
- Train users on new processes, system functionality, and best practices.
- Support change management efforts for process improvements and ERP initiatives.
- Serve as a champion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3–7 years of Business Analyst experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing SOP documentation.
- Experience supporting ERP systems, preferably Epicor ERP.
- Strong business process mapping and documentation skills.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory management, procurement, and production planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visio, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Epicor ERP experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with BAQs, BPMs, dashboards, and report development.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Project management experience.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, ERP implementations, or business integration projects.
Success Measures
- Standardize and document key business processes across the organization.
- Improve Epicor ERP utilization and data quality.
- Reduce manual processes through automation and workflow improvements.
- Increase operational efficiency within manufacturing and supply chain functions.
- Deliver accurate process documentation that supports training, compliance, and scalability.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on process improvement and ERP best practices.

Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000 (based on experience)
