SUMMARY

The Business Analyst independently partners with business leaders, Business Relationship Managers, Enterprise Architecture, and technology teams to analyze business needs, document requirements, and identify process improvement opportunities. This role facilitates requirements-gathering activities, evaluates solution options, and supports project delivery across multiple initiatives while balancing business objectives, risks, and technology considerations to achieve desired outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes existing business processes, identifies gaps and inefficiencies, and recommends process improvement opportunities.
• Contributes to business case development by identifying benefits, assumptions, costs, dependencies, and risks.
• Independently gathers, documents, validates, and manages business requirements for projects and initiatives.
• Translates business needs into functional requirements that support successful solution delivery.
• Creates business requirements documents, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and supporting project artifacts.
• Maintains the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) throughout the project lifecycle and ensures requirements are traced through design, testing, and implementation.
• Partners with stakeholders to prioritize requirements, manage scope, and align solution outcomes with business objectives.
• Documents reporting, data, and measurement requirements needed to support business processes and decision-making.
• Partners with Quality Assurance and business stakeholders to ensure business requirements are appropriately represented in testing activities, supports test planning and validation efforts, and provides requirements clarification throughout testing and defect-resolution activities.
• Identifies and communicates risks, dependencies, assumptions, and potential impacts to project teams and stakeholders.
• Facilitates stakeholder interviews, workshops, process reviews, and requirements-gathering sessions.
• Facilitates communication between business and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture and technology teams to evaluate solution options and support decision-making.
• Provides guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to Associate Business Analysts and less experienced team members.
• Consistently applies business analysis standards while identifying opportunities to enhance processes and practices.
• Facilitates requirements review and approval activities with business stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Experience independently eliciting, documenting, validating, and managing business requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate business processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements discussions.
• Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting project artifacts.
• Experience maintaining requirements traceability and supporting validation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ability to partner with Quality Assurance and business stakeholders to support testing alignment, requirements clarification, and defect analysis.
• Ability to document reporting, data, and measurement requirements that support business processes and decision-making.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with business and technology teams.
• Ability to identify and communicate risks, assumptions, dependencies, and potential business impacts.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities while meeting established deadlines.
• Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to Associate Business Analysts and other less experienced team members.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new business domains, systems, technologies, and analysis techniques.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 4-6 years of business analysis, project delivery, operations, banking, technology, or related experience required
• Financial services experience preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Business Analysis certification such as CCBA or equivalent preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is $61,700 to $95,700 per year (in CO & WA) and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Additionally, this role is eligible to receive annual discretionary cash bonuses. Benefits available for this position include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability benefits and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hours worked which equates to approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time) and up to 11 paid Federal holidays.
