Location 26 Francis Street, Lindsay, ON

Hours Normal Working Hours are 35-hours per week; including varied shift times: days, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Other General office environment; some travel throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes may be necessary in accordance with job requirements. Ability to exert up to 8.9 kg (20 lbs) of force occasionally, and/or up to 4.4 kg (10 lbs) of force constantly to move objects

This posting is for an existing, currently open position within Corporate Services. Applications will be reviewed as received.

  • Provide business analysis and project management functions for corporate and business application implementations.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals; and to identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Work with departments to develop detailed understanding of their business requirements, work processes, application and custom report requirements then lead initiatives to implement or enhance information technology solutions to support processes and address needs.
  • Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. Report findings, probable causes and identify possible solutions to systems issues.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed system acquisitions or enhancements to aid management in making approval and funding decisions.
  • Prepare presentations for and attend Information Technology Steering Committee meetings.
  • Assist in the selection, management, deployment, and integration of new business applications.
  • Resolve issues through consultation, issue control, change control, and escalate issues to appropriate decision makers where required.
  • Provide programming and change control support for applications.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and third parties to develop application interfaces, data conversions, system modifications, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of application systems.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
  • Assist with the implementation of effective and efficient Information Technology operations by participating in the development and maintenance of Information Technology strategies, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and documentation.
  • Work beyond regular business hours may be required to meet deadlines

  • Occasional travel to various work locations is required to fulfill the duties of the position.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Education Required

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Business/Accounting or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as Business Analyst
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), ITIL, COBIT and PMP designations preferred
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
  • Proven experience with core software applications, including Oracle JDE E1 Enterprise Resource Planning system, Microsoft SQL relational databases and applications, Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Familiarity with Vadim iCity, CityWide, Cityworks, SharePoint, Gimmal, Perfect Mind is desired.
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database systems. Knowledgeable in database design, structure and standards; data retrieval methodologies and applications; program specification and coding
  • Proficient in the use of Project Management software
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s core services, goals and objectives
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Logical and efficient with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, an acceptable Criminal Record Check will be required
