Job Description

Business Analyst – Westpac

Excellent Salary + Banking + Lifestyle Benefits

Build on your finance career and join us as a Business Analyst at Westpac!

As a Business Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing how Westpac monitors, manages, and resolves issues across the mortgage value chain. You'll partner with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver automated and sustainable reporting solutions, helping reduce manual processes and improve data quality, governance, and operational efficiency. Using your strong analytical skills, you'll transform complex regulatory, customer, and business requirements into meaningful reporting insights that drive action and support better outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to influence key business decisions while contributing to a more efficient and resilient mortgage reporting environment.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

What do I need?

  • Experience in business analysis, processimprovement, or operating model enhancement, with the ability to identify opportunities to simplify and streamline processes
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging diverse groups, facilitating workshops, and presenting recommendations clearly
  • The ability to independently manage initiatives, drive outcomes, and balance project- basedwork alongside business-as-usual priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence interpreting data, reports, and operationalmetrics to support decision-making
  • Experience working within banking or financialservices, ideally with an understanding of regulated environments, risk management, or governance processes
  • A collaborative mindset, curiosity to challenge the status quo, and a passion for delivering practical business improvements

What will I be doing?

  • Deliver a rationalised and automated exception reporting (ER) ecosystem, shifting reporting to internally automated datasets and reducing reliance on manual processes and multiple vendors
  • Provide clear governance and maintenance exceptionreporting (ER) to enable timely remediation of issues across the mortgage value chain
  • Partner across MLOB Village, Mortgage Operations, Tech Vendors, and Data Platforms to uplift the quality, sustainability, and efficiency of ERs supporting regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Translate customer, regulatory, risk, and operational needs into clear data requirements and actionable reporting outputs.
