Job Title: Business Analyst (Job level P2) for Tools Production department

Pune Tools is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong analytical capabilities and expertise in systems and data analysis. The role requires the ability to accurately interpret financial and operational information, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and translate complex data into actionable business insights that support strategic decision-making.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for financial reporting: prepare and consolidate monthly reports, perform variance analysis, and provide detailed insights with actionable recommendations
  • Extract and consolidate data from various systems such as RAPS, M3, Click & Decide, Qlik Sense, Power BI, and similar tools
  • Act as a Key User for M3(MOVEX), including system testing and master data management
  • Coordinate with IT teams to resolve system issues and support continuous improvements
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning, including FTE planning and capacity analysis, and provide inputs for cost control and business planning
  • Monitor inventory, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and support corrective actions
  • Participate in regular business and system review meetings
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive initiatives for cost optimization.
  • Compiling information such as Production report, Consumption report, Machine to Man hours report

    Variance Analysis such as Price, Material, Scrap, Efficiency & Utilization.

  • Data Extraction on Product Costing with splits into Rates, Operation, Order Qty, Margins, Pricing & variations.

Competencies Required

  • Familiarity with workplace safety standards, practices, and data security requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently perform analysis, identify root causes, trends, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Knowledge of ERP systems similar to M3 and RAPS, along with reporting tools
  • Advanced Excel skills to manage and analyze large datasets & Interpretation of BI Tools
  • Ability to organize work effectively and collaborate within teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and the ability to work with international stakeholders
  • Good understanding of Product costing structures, variance analysis, Inventory, Expense management and their business impact
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple reporting deadlines
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, and inventory flow
  • Ownership mindset, with the ability to take responsibility, proactively identify risks, and drive resolution
  • Adaptability to new tools, system upgrades, and changing business requirements.

Education & Experience

  • Relevant university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (M.com/MBA) with minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Certification or knowledge in BI tools and financial reporting is preferred
  • Work experience of working in a Production/Manufacturing Unit is preferred

Other details

  • Reporting will be direct to the Production Unit head
  • This position is for onsite work only with six days working plan/week
