We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the NTPF Digital Transformation Program, contributing to major digital and business transformation initiatives focused on improving operational capability, community safety, and service delivery outcomes across the Northern Territory Government environment.
In this role, you will work closely with operational stakeholders, technical teams, executives, and external delivery partners to analyse business needs, document requirements, improve processes, and support the successful implementation of technology solutions. You will play a key role in translating complex operational and business requirements into practical, user-focused outcomes while ensuring alignment with governance, compliance, privacy, and security standards. This is a 6-month contract opportunity based in Darwin, NT.
Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Lead stakeholder engagement workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.
- Analyse current state processes and design future state business workflows to support digital transformation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including business requirements documents, user stories, process maps, functional specifications, gap analyses, and traceability matrices.
- Collaborate with operational users, project teams, architects, developers, and external agencies to ensure solutions align with business objectives and user needs.
- Support solution design activities by identifying risks, dependencies, impacts, and improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate walkthroughs, reviews, and approvals of business analysis deliverables with key stakeholders.
- Assist with testing activities including test planning, test case development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation of business outcomes.
- Support implementation, business readiness, change management, and stakeholder adoption activities.
- Ensure project documentation and records are maintained in accordance with governance, security, and information management requirements.
- Contribute to delivery within agreed project timelines, quality standards, and governance frameworks.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering large-scale digital transformation and business systems projects within complex or highly governed environments.
- Strong capability in requirements elicitation, business process analysis, process mapping, documentation, testing, and solution implementation support.
- Experience translating business needs into practical technology solutions, including identifying process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrated understanding of human-centred design principles and user-focused service delivery approaches.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across operational, technical, and executive audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience supporting end-to-end project delivery including requirements traceability, testing, implementation, and change activities.
- Knowledge of governance, compliance, privacy, security, and information management practices within government or regulated environments.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, SharePoint, Balsamiq, Figma, and related collaboration platforms.
- Experience working within Government, policing, justice, emergency services, or operational environments will be highly regarded.
- A collaborative, professional, and outcomes-focused approach with the ability to work effectively in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
