Job Description

You crave a career that pushes you, where you'll meet challenges head on and you're guaranteed to grow.

Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.

In this role, you'll:

Lead structured discovery activities to clearly define and qualify business problems, develop a shared understanding of the current state, and produce evidence‑based discovery outcomes that inform future decisions.

You will work closely with stakeholders, data and analytics teams, and leadership to facilitate discovery workshops, capture As‑Is processes, identify gaps and pain points, and translate findings into clear, well‑structured discovery artefacts and reports. The focus of the role is on problem definition and insight generation, rather than solution design or implementation.

About you

You are an experienced Discovery Business Analyst with a strong focus on problem definition, current‑state analysis, and evidence‑based discovery. You are skilled in facilitating workshops, capturing As‑Is processes, and producing clear, structured discovery reports. You thrive in ambiguous environments, work collaboratively with stakeholders and data teams, and bring clarity through structured analysis rather than solution design.

  • Lead discovery analysis to clearly define and quantify business problems, including scope, impacts, constraints, risks, and assumptions
  • Conduct current‑state (As‑Is) analysis, including process mapping and fact‑finding, to develop clear, fit‑for‑purpose discovery reports
  • Plan and facilitate stakeholder workshops to elicit business needs, validate process information, and identify pain points and gaps
  • Document discovery findings, gaps, and insights and provide structured inputs to data and analytics team members for further quantification
  • Translate discovery outcomes into high‑quality discovery artefacts, including data requirements, fact lists, assumptions, and user needs (where required)
  • Provide informed advice on discovery findings, including business context, problem statements, and evidence to support discovery business cases
  • Work across multiple discovery work streams, building strong relationships with stakeholders and internal team members.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in discovery-focused business analysis, including problem definition, requirements elicitation for discovery, and current‑state (As‑Is) analysis
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to qualify and quantify problems, identify gaps, and develop evidence‑based discovery findings
  • Proven ability to communicate complex information clearly and succinctly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and synthesising inputs into clear, structured discovery artefacts and reports
  • Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, including partnering with data and analytics teams to support further qualification and quantification
  • A customer‑centred mindset with a strong commitment to producing high‑quality, fit‑for‑purpose discovery outcomes
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
