The New York City Department of Investigation (“DOI”) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country; its mission is to combat municipal corruption. DOI serves the people of New York City by acting as an independent and nonpartisan watchdog for New York City government, City agencies, and City employees, vendors with City contracts, individuals and entities that receive City funds.
The selected candidate will serve as a primary liaison between IT and business units to gather, analyze, and document technology requirements while ensuring appropriate security safeguards and internal controls are incorporated into system enhancements and implementations.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate and consolidate IT-related requests, aligning initiatives with operational needs and established IT security and control standards.
- Develop business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications ensuring system integrity, data accuracy, and compliance with internal control requirements.
- Monitor and assess system control features, identify potential vulnerabilities or control gaps, and recommend corrective actions to safeguard agency information systems and associated databases.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and testing of IT security procedures, quality assurance processes, and contingency plans.
- Provide technical support for computers, laptops, A/V systems, telecommunications equipment, and mobile devices, ensuring proper configuration, security compliance, and documentation.
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical assistance via phone, email, and in-person support; manage ticket queues and maintain detailed documentation to support audit readiness and operational accountability.
- Maintain and reconcile IT asset inventories, track equipment assignments, serial numbers, product specifications, and software licenses; conduct periodic inventory reviews to protect agency assets.
- Prepare and process IT Purchase Requests (IPRs) and coordinate with procurement to ensure proper authorization, documentation, and compliance with established procedures.
- Support mobile device lifecycle management including secure configuration, MDM enrollment, troubleshooting, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Provide regular status updates to IT leadership regarding ticket resolution, asset management controls, compliance efforts, and project progress.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
