Role of Business Analyst:
1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, and goals.
- Document and analyze functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data and reporting teams.
2. Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between business users, data engineers, and BI developers.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather feedback and align expectations.
- Manage stakeholder communications and ensure timely updates on progress and issues.
3. Data Analysis & Validation
- Perform exploratory data analysis to support decision-making.
- Validate data outputs from SQL and Power BI reports.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and relevance for business use.
4. Documentation & Process Mapping
- Create and maintain BRDs (Business Requirement Documents), FRDs (Functional Requirement Documents), and user stories.
- Develop process flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and use case documents.
- Maintain documentation for BAU processes and migration efforts.
5. Support for BAU Activities
- Handle ad-hoc data requests and reporting needs.
- Support issue resolution and change requests related to existing systems.
- Ensure continuity of business operations during system upgrades or transitions.
6. New Tool Migration Support
- Assist in impact analysis and readiness assessments for migration.
- Collaborate with technical teams to map legacy processes to new components.
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and validation of migrated reports and pipelines.
- Document migration outcomes, gaps, and recommendations.
