Unissant is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team and support our government customer. The candidate will be responsible for the implementation and management of business aligned IT services, ensuring the application platform is of high quality, defects free and adheres to industry standards for development, testing and deployment methodologies.

While not mandatory, having a technical background can be beneficial, especially when working with development teams. It allows the Business Analyst to better understand the technical challenges faced by the team.

*This position is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibilities include capturing, verifying, and managing requirements in support of product development, test and delivery.
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, develop and implement solutions
  • Analyze the Business Domain initiatives to identify epics and features for the business requirements.
  • Understand how to groom the product backlog.
  • Help break user stories into Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Facilitate working sessions with scrum team and effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members, management, and the government customer.
  • Stay up to date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Act as a liaison between the business and the technical team.

Work Experience and Job Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software requirements analysis and documentation.
  • Must have CMS experience.
  • Experience with Agile and SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience gathering and documenting system and business requirements.
  • Experience in requirement identification, use case and scenario capture, and development of visual tools, analytical tables, and presentations.
  • Experience in creating systems and user documentation is required.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office tools including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Visio.
  • Proficient with management tools such as Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment collaborating with developers, testers, customers, and management.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Ability to easily adapt to new and changing requirements by performing detailed analysis.
  • Ability to work with all levels in an organization from end users to managers to obtain detailed system requirements.
  • Strong documentation abilities, along with solid analytical and conceptual thinking skills are preferred.
  • Ability to set goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with internal and external customers.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • Public Trust Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.

Communication Skills

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders is essential.
  • Proven ability to facilitate working sessions, ask insightful questions to gather requirements, and interpret client feedback to translate it into clear actionable documentation.
  • Excellent writing skills to clearly document and communicate stakeholder requirements at various levels from high level to detailed.

Travel:

  • This is a 100% remote position.

Environmental Requirements

  • Mainly sedentary; in an office environment.
  • May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
  • Flexible in working extended hours
