As part of our BAS team, your responsibilities will align to your experience level, with support to progress and develop as a leader over time. You’ll be involved in:
Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and management reports
Maintaining high‑quality electronic workpapers and improving templates and processes
Using Xero, APS and Excel to deliver accurate, insightful client outcomes
Identifying risks, trends and opportunities
Working directly with clients in a solutions‑focused way
Communicating and working closely with Directors and Managers
At Senior / Supervisor level, you will:
Review and support the work of junior team members, and contribute to a positive team culture
Actively develop your leadership skills and contribute to team performance
Take on direct client relationship responsibilities
Take ownership of engagements and identify additional service opportunities
We’re open to candidates at different stages of their career, and we’ll tailor the role accordingly. You’ll likely bring:
A Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent), majoring in Accounting
2–4+ years’ experience in a Chartered Accounting firm
CA or CPA qualification (or actively working towards it)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and confidence communicating with clients and colleagues
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and critical thinking
Initiative, sound judgement and a collaborative mindset
Right to work in New Zealand
Experience with Xero is preferred.
