This opportunity is specifically for Bushwalking Guide roles on our Cradle Mountain and Bay of Fires Walks in Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) has been creating exceptional guided walking experiences for over 30 years across some of Australia’s most remarkable wilderness locations. We create immersive, multi-day walking experiences that connect people with place, culture and the natural environment.

About the role

As a Guide, you will create safe, engaging and memorable experiences for guests, helping them step out of everyday life and into extraordinary wilderness environments.

  • Identify and manage potential hazards and maintain strong knowledge of safety procedures and equipment
  • Ensure all guests are prepared and well equipped for their trip
  • Complete accurate trip documentation, including trip reports, hazard identification and incident reporting
  • Share engaging stories and interpretive knowledge about the landscape, wildlife, history and cultural significance of the area
  • Maintain a strong focus on guest safety throughout each trip
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across guest accommodation and shared spaces

About You

  • Relevant bush walking experience and a good knowledge of the National Parks the walk is situated in.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and ability to provide interpretation about the area, the flora, fauna, and history to guests.
  • Well-developed customer service, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
  • Hospitality experience; cooking, food preparation, presentation, and service.

Certifications

  • Current Wilderness First Aid (SISSS00126)
  • Current Provide CPR (HLTAID009) *must be valid within 12 months*
  • Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021) * to be certified in the state you will be working in*
  • Use hygiene practices for food safety, or equivalent (SITXFSA005)
