Job Description

Production engineer for bus body assembly / end off line processes / Final processes

Safety :

  • Zero incidents in the respective work area
  • Identifying unsafe acts / condition through audits and taking corrective actions for the same
  • Closure of incidents with suitable corrective actions if any
  • Creating awareness among the associates through training / other modes on safety, HIRA, EMS, OHSAS etc.,
  • Update and maintain HIRA / SEEA
  • Knowledge on ergonomics

    Quality :

  • Responsible of delivery of defect free engines to customers
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality KPIs
  • Knowledge in Q7 tools / A3 problem solving / 8D analysis
  • Able to trouble shoot the assembly / testing issues
  • Responsible for upkeep of gauges, instruments and torque wrenches Taking suitable corrective actions for process related issues immediately by coordinating with stake holders
  • Involve / Lead quality initiative projects

Delivery:

  • Ensure daily production without losses (Plan vs Actual); 100% adherence
    • Take suitable corrective actions for line losses by coordinating with stake holders
    • Focus on process related issues and aim for zero process related issues
  • Knowledge on time study
  • Knowledge on line balancing
  • Smooth implementation of new variants / models / parts without affecting the output
  • Smooth rampup incase of any new models introduction
  • People handling

Cost :

  • Focus on indirect consumable cost (Eg. Gloves, clothes etc.,)
  • Focus on direct consumable cost (Eg. Sealant, liquid gasket etc.,)
  • Focus on Hours Per Unit (w.r.to capacity)
  • Involve in cost initiative projects
  • Monitoring tools life and taking suitable actions if any gap observed
  • Focus on energy cost

Morale :

  • Plan the Class room / on the job training for new joiners
  • Absenteeism within the target
  • Multiskilling of associates
  • Training of sub ordinates
  • Focus on kaizen, small projects etc.,
  • Create best work environment in the respective area

  • Documentation
    • Daily / weekly / monthly report related to production
    • Attendance tracking
    • Training records
    • Skill matrix of associates
    • SFM boards
    • Tools tracker
    • Line losses tracker
    • Updating of SWI / JES based on requirement
    • Process Change Request
    • Issue based tracker like Maintenance concerns, ME concerns etc.,
    • Kaizen record
