The Goddard School of Edgewater is looking for a responsible, dependable, and caring Bus Driver / Resource Teacher to join our team!

This is a unique position that combines working with children in our school as a Resource Teacher while also assisting with transportation for our school-age program. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is comfortable taking on a variety of responsibilities throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in various classrooms as a Resource Teacher based on the needs of the school.
• Assist teachers with classroom coverage, activities, transitions, and daily routines.
• Safely transport children on our 14-passenger school bus.
• Drive children to and from local elementary schools
• Complete required vehicle and transportation checks.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and professional environment while transporting children.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, and staff.
• Follow all school, transportation, and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other school responsibilities as needed.

Schedule

Hours may vary depending on the needs of the school. However, availability between approximately 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM is required for school transportation.

Additional Resource Teacher hours may be available before and/or after the transportation portion of the position, depending on school needs and the candidate's availability.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

• Comfortable working with children of different ages
• Experienced working with children; early childhood education or childcare experience is strongly preferred
• Able to work as part of a team
• Professional and positive
• Safety-conscious and attentive

Driver Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have an excellent driving record
• Must meet all applicable requirements for transporting children
• Must be comfortable driving a 14-passenger bus- NO CDL needed
• Previous bus or passenger-transportation experience is a plus, but training and driving lessons on our 14-passenger bus will be provided

Compensation

Salary will vary based on experience, qualifications, and availability.
