Position Type: Part TimePart Time/ On Call Bus Driver
Located in Portland, Maine, Cheverus High School is a Private Catholic College Preparatory School sponsored by the Society of Jesus serving 387 students plus staff daily.
Cheverus High School is accepting applications for Part Time/ On Call Bus Driver (15-passenger and CDL licensed 52-passenger) to transport students and student-athletes to and from designated destinations. Additional extracurricular runs (Athletics/Clubs/Immersion Trips and Field trips) may be requested.
Salary: $30.24 per hour
Responsibilities include
- Driving students and staff to various locations
- Monitoring the maintenance and inspections for the buses.
- Conducting Pre-Trip and Post-Trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe Operation.
- Attending and participating in required safety meetings.
- Cleaning the buses as necessary to maintain a professional appearance and positive school image.
- Responsible for other job-related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director.
QualificationsQualifications
- For 15-passenger bus: must hold a valid Maine drivers license and show a safe driving record
- For 52-passenger school bus: must hold a valid Class B, CDL Maine Drivers License, P (Passenger) Endorsement and S (Student) Endorsement
- Must be At least 21 years of age
- Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and possess good communication skills
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, administrators, students and parents
- Must have a work history demonstrating dependability and reliability
- Must submit to Drug and Alcohol DOT regulated testing
- Valid State of Maine Criminal History Records Check (CHRC endorsement)
- Passing DHHS Background screening, federal and state background checks.
