Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe and timely transport of site personnel between designated locations.
  • Liase with managers about other duties that maybe outside of bus driving
  • Assist passengers with boarding, luggage, and any special requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and fuel usage.
  • Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and site-specific transport protocols.
  • Coordinate with site logistics teams to fulfill short-haul transport requests.
  • Execute scheduled and ad-hoc errands, including delivery of equipment or supplies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle, both interior and exterior.
  • Monitor and report any incidents, delays, or hazards encountered during transit.
  • Follow fatigue management guidelines and report any concerns to supervisors.
  • Use communication tools (e.g., two-way radios, mobile apps) to stay updated on route changes or site alerts.
  • Support emergency response procedures when required, including evacuation transport.
  • Track and report fuel usage and vehicle-related expenses.
  • Ensure efficient route planning to minimize fuel and time expenditure
  • Conduct Daily Pre-Start Safety Checks - Perform thorough inspections of the vehicle before each shift, ensuring brakes, lights, tires, and safety equipment are in working order.
  • Adhere to Site and Road Safety Protocols.
  • Report Hazards and Incidents Promptly and procedures, and assist in transporting personnel during emergency situations if required.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings as required.

About you

  • Valid and unrestricted Light Rigid (LR) or higher class driver’s license (Required).
  • Current Driver Accreditation or Passenger Transport Driver Authorization (Desirable).
  • First Aid Certificate (Desirable).
  • Completion of site-specific induction and fatigue management training (Required upon hire).
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within mining or remote operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles safely in varied terrain and weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
