Job Location: BGC Lodi - Lodi, NJ 07644
Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $25.00 - $28.00 Hourly

Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations and in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lower Bergen County, the Bus Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of passengers to and from various designated locations. This is to be accomplished by utilizing the BGCLBC school busses (or other designated vehicles). The individual will role model our core values of honesty, respect and responsibility and work daily to develop personal and meaningful relationships with staff, volunteers, program participants, parents/guardians, and others.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Arrives daily for scheduled workday on time and prepared for work shift.
- Understands and adheres to NJMVC, NJDCF and NJDOT guidelines on passenger/ school bus transportation.
- Is accountable and knowledgeable of NJDCF childcare licensing relative to transportation.
- Conducts daily inspection of bus and records it on inspection reports as required.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle from the interior (daily) and exterior.
- Maintains the vehicle fueled and ensures other vehicle fluids are filled adequately.
- Reports any repairs, or maintenance, that is needed on the vehicle to the direct supervisor. Will also be the primary person to take the vehicle to the repair and/or inspection station.
- Uses the vehicle for only work related/assigned purposes.
- Must be able to pass a background check. Consisting of two NJDCF required checks and two organizational checks.
- Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol test at the employers request and comply with a Drug Free policy.
- Must be able to provide a valid (acceptable) identification for the completion of the employment eligibility verification information in accordance with the I-9.
- Have access to reliable transportation to commute, to and from work. program locations, and activities as requested (such as meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the immediate area.)
- Must clock in, or complete time sheet daily upon arrive and at the end of the work shift.
- Does not use personal electronic devices during work shift (i.e. cellphone, earphones, etc.) unless for work related purposes.
- Maintains a professional appearance and conducts business using a customer centered approach.
- Participates in staff meetings, surveys, questionnaires as needed by the program or organization.
- Responsible for proper record keeping and reporting on the vehicle.
- Maintains confidentiality of members, employees, and Club information.
- Reports any suspected abuse to the proper authorities, to ensure that the proper steps in reporting and documentation are completed.
- Attends all required staff meetings and trainings.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures.
- Assume other duties as assigned.

QualificationsPhysical Demands:
Sitting, driving long and short distances, standing, walking, leaning, bending. Must be able to lift 30lbs.
Education / Certifications:
- Must have a High school Diploma or GED.
- Must already hold NJDMV CDL endorsement with P and S certification with the appropriate class based on vehicle. (License must be in good standing.)
- At minimum 21 years of age.
- Must attain CPR/ First Aid and Child Abuse certifications within 90 days of hire.
- Must maintain CDL with P and S endorsement.
Base hours:
Hours are flexible and scheduled as needed. Below is typical work schedule that the Bus Driver may anticipate.
Academic year schedule: Before care(7am-9pm) and aftercare (2pm-5pm). Additional time may be required during the day if trips are scheduled.
Summer schedule: 8am-10am, 11:30am-3:30pm. Additional time may be required during the day if trips are scheduled.
*Work hours may be modified at any time by the Program Director and/or Director of Operations.
