Job Description

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking a safety‑focused and reliable Bus Driver to provide transportation services to various sites. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and courteous transportation to and from various sites while maintaining compliance with all safety and licensing requirements. As one of the most visible representatives of the organization, the Bus Driver plays an important role in positively reflecting the company’s values and professionalism.

• Safely operate a 32-passenger bus in accordance with all provincial regulations and company safety standards
• Transport passengers to and from scheduled tours, events, and programs
• Ensure all passengers are safely boarded, seated, and secured before departure
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns
• Act as a positive brand ambassador by demonstrating courtesy, professionalism, and strong safety practices when interacting with passengers, families, staff, and the public
• Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming vehicle environment
• Adhere to established schedules while exercising sound judgment in traffic, weather, and site conditions
• Communicate effectively with program coordinators and event organizers regarding timing and logistics
• Complete required documentation, logs, and safety reporting as needed
• Complete electronic passenger trip tracking

Working Conditions

• Part‑time, hours scheduled based on program and event needs
• Local travel only (home daily)
• Primarily weekday work; occasional evening, and weekend
• Schedule flexibility required

• Valid Class 2 Driver’s License (or equivalent) with a clean driving abstract
• Professional driving experience (bus or commercial vehicle preferred)
• Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic regulations
• Experience transporting passengers safely and professionally
• Ability to work with students and youth in a respectful and calm manner
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused
• Flexible availability to support scheduled morning, daytime, or occasional afternoon and weekend trips
