What You'll Be Doing

This position involves manual labor and semi-skilled maintenance work for the Department of Public Works- Buildings Maintenance Division. Under close supervision and on-the-job training conditions, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in one or more maintenance trades, and performs related work as required. Position is subject to emergency recall and shift work.

Examples of duties

• HS Diploma/GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing a variety of skilled trades and/or maintenance work.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with data entry and e-mail.
• Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods; and work overtime and/or be on-call for emergencies or other operational needs.
• Flexibility to work different shifts as work needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of experience performing a variety of skilled trades in building maintenance, electrical, HVAC, and/or plumbing.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
