This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are interested in building systems, mechanical work, and practical problem solving. No prior professional experience is required – comprehensive training is provided to support success in this hands-on role.
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Building Engineering, the Building Systems Technician ensures the mechanical systems within the zoo’s facilities are operating efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues in HVAC systems, electrical controls, plumbing, elevators, life safety systems, and emergency power supplies. This role offers a unique chance to apply your mechanical skills to a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
This position will work on a wide variety of mechanical systems while troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing the critical systems that keep our operations running smoothly.
