Job Location Evansville, IN 47708 Salary Range $11.50 - $13.00

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Membership Team Member maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Member Team Member responds to member and guest needs and promotes memberships and programs.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

Weekdays

  • 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Weekends

  • Fridays 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sundays 11:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
  2. Complete required abuse risk management training.
  3. Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  4. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  5. Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
  6. Ensure check-in procedures are followed
  7. Greet and serve members and guests
  8. Provide information on facility services and programs
  9. Enroll members and program participants
  10. Serve as liaison between members and program supervisors
  11. Handle and solve member complaints
  12. Carry out other duties as assigned
  13. Meet and greet members and visitors in a positive and professional manner as a representative of the YMCA
  14. Perform facility access control duties, including escorting members and visitors to rooms, if needed.
  15. Give membership and program information to walk in and phone customers. High knowledge of program information at all times.
  16. Provide quality tours of the facility.
  17. Complete all require Y trainings, new staff orientation and membership desk training.
  18. Responsible for finding substitutes if unable to come to work.
  19. Clean front and service desks, center office, and lobby (please straighten lobby chairs)
  20. Fill out maintenance request forms
  21. Enforce YMCA policies (ex. lighting policy and code of conduct)
  22. First responder for any emergency, behavior or incident that occurs
  23. Walk-through checklist
  24. Follow building closing procedures

**This position required a minimum of two weekday shifts per week and a minimum two weekend shifts per month. Early morning openings, evenings, and weekend shifts may be included.

  4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen and Blood Borne Pathogen training required within 60 days of employment.

  1. Child Abuse Prevention training required on/before first day of work.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  4. Previous customer service or other related experience.
  5. Basic knowledge of computers.
