ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a proactive Building Supervisor with proven experience in overseeing daily building operations, including maintenance and facilities management. A solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations is essential

Required skills and experience:

  • Good verbal and communication skills

  • Fully UK Driving licence

  • Building maintenance and asset management

  • Facilities operations and space management

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance

  • Risk assessment and incident management

  • Contractor and vendor management

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

  • Sustainability and energy management

  • Good IT literacy skills (MS Office/Excel/Word)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on individual to take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of our building and surrounding areas, including exterior sample stores, yard, and parking facilities. You will play a key role in supervising on-site building works and ensuring our facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Key activities:

  • Supervise and organise any building work carried out onsite

  • Ordering, handling and replacing gases for the laboratory when required

  • Ordering, handling and replacing solvent drums when required

  • Liaise with couriers to dispatch samples from the laboratory

  • Maintaining the sample retention stores in good working order

  • Assist in sample collections when required

  • Assisting your line manager in the selection and recruitment of new staff

  • Liaise with approved waste collection contractors to dispose of samples and other waste produced onsite

  • Supervise building work carried out on site, ensuring contractors comply with company procedures and the provisions of Health and Safety regulations
