Job Description

Building Substitute Teacher at Emily G. Johns Intermediate School (grades 4 - 6th) for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year.

Qualifications:

• Substitute teaching certificate required
• PEL, Type 03 or Type 04 preferred
• ESL preferred but not required

Successful candidate will be placed in a building substitute position at Emily G. Johns School for the remainder of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and supervision for students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, following provided lesson plans and maintaining established classroom routines.
• Adapt to diverse classroom environments and grade levels.
• Collaborate with staff and administration to support students' academic and behavioral needs.
• Manage classroom behavior to create a safe and productive learning environment.
• Assist with non-teaching duties as needed, such as supervising transitions, lunch, and other common areas.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration to ensure instructional objectives are met.

Terms of Employment:

• $140/day
• Schedule follows the regular school calendar and hours.
