Building Set Field Inspector

About the Opportunity
Vector Talent Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of an established organization seeking an experienced Building Set Field Inspector to support a large-scale workforce housing development in West Texas.
This position will support an active modular construction project involving the installation and turnover of a significant number of manufactured/modular building units.
The Building Set Field Inspector will provide field inspection support throughout building set operations, including foundation and pier readiness, unit placement, leveling, anchoring, and marriage-line closeout. This position is responsible for verifying that installation activities comply with manufacturer specifications, approved drawings, and project requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with set crews, riggers, superintendents, subcontractors, and quality personnel in an active construction environment. Strong field awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately document deficiencies and corrective actions are essential.

Responsibilities
• Inspect foundation, pier, and anchor point readiness prior to unit set
• Verify building unit placement, leveling, and tie-down/anchoring systems for compliance with manufacturer specifications and approved drawings
• Inspect marriage-line closure, utility tie-ins, and weatherproofing at unit-to-unit connections
• Document field observations, deficiencies, and corrective actions using established inspection forms and logs
• Coordinate with set crews, riggers, superintendents, subcontractors, and quality personnel to support set sequencing and inspections
• Track punch list items and verify completion prior to unit turnover
• Maintain organized technical logs and inspection response tracking
• Support project quality and installation requirements throughout active building set operations
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in modular/manufactured housing set, field inspection, or construction quality control
• Ability to read and interpret foundation, building set, and manufacturer installation drawings
• Working knowledge of modular/manufactured building set, leveling, and anchoring practices
• Strong organization and attention to detail in field documentation
• Ability to work effectively around crane, rigging, and active building set operations
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing project priorities and schedules
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of field experience and training
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with field crews, subcontractors, project leadership, and other stakeholders
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow assignments through completion
Preferred Qualifications
• Manufacturer-specific set or installation certification
• NICET certification
• State modular housing inspector certification

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an active construction environment, communicates effectively with field teams, maintains accurate documentation, and takes ownership of identifying and tracking issues through final closeout.
This position requires regular site mobility, work around active crane and rigging operations, and schedule flexibility based on project milestones and field requirements.
