Building Services Supervisor

Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Eligible for Overtime | Pay: $33.00–$35.50/hour

Touchmark on West Prospect, Appleton’s leading full-service senior living community, is seeking an experienced Building Services Supervisor to join our team.

This is a hands-on working supervisor position for someone who brings strong maintenance experience along with the ability to lead, train, coach, and provide daily direction to others. You will work alongside the Building Services team while helping ensure our buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and building systems remain safe, attractive, reliable, and well maintained.

The Building Services Supervisor reports to the Building Services Manager/Director and plays an important role in keeping daily operations organized, responsive, and focused on exceptional service to our residents.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, work direction, training, and coaching to Building Services team members.
  • Help establish daily priorities, assign work, coordinate coverage, and follow up to ensure work is completed safely and to established standards.
  • Work alongside the team performing general maintenance and repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, equipment, and building systems.
  • Monitor and prioritize resident and community work orders and service requests.
  • Inspect completed work and community areas for quality, safety, cleanliness, and needed corrective action.
  • Coordinate and participate in preventative maintenance activities and inspections.
  • Assist with scheduling, onboarding, attendance follow-up, performance feedback, and other supervisory responsibilities.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs and participate in the department’s on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Assist with unit refurbishments, repairs, remodels, moves, seasonal projects, and other community projects.
  • Coordinate appropriately with contractors, vendors, other departments, residents, and families.
  • Help maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, preventative maintenance, and work-order records.
  • Reinforce safe work practices, department expectations, Touchmark Gold Standards, and our commitment to exceptional resident service.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in general building, facilities, or maintenance work.
  • General industrial or commercial maintenance experience.
  • Previous experience providing work direction, training, coaching, or supervision to maintenance or facilities employees.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, floor coverings, life safety systems, grounds maintenance, and general equipment repair.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize work, manage competing priorities, and provide effective direction during urgent situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach when working with residents, families, team members, vendors, and contractors.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with work-order or maintenance tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds and perform the physical requirements associated with building and grounds maintenance.

Preferred: Experience in senior living, health care, hospitality, or a similar community environment.
