Job Description

Role: Building Services Engineer
Contract: Permanent
Client: Leading Residential Developer
Essentials: Third-level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services, 4+ years of residential project management experience in Ireland, interest in energy management.
Location: South Dublin site based role
Salary: €60,000 - €65,000

Overseeing: M&E sub-contractors and supporting site teams
Reporting into: Building Services Manager
Our client, a leading residential developer, is seeking a skilled Building Services Engineer to assist in the management of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services design and installation across high-density residential projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and excellent coordination skills.
 
  • M&E Installation Oversight: Manage and monitor the installation quality of M&E systems from initial coordination to final commissioning and handover.
  • Site Coordination: Support site construction management teams in leading M&E system coordination and assist with onsite problem-solving when issues arise.
  • Design Integration: Coordinate with project design teams to ensure M&E system interfaces align with architectural and structural elements.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee M&E subcontractors onsite to ensure programme schedules and quality expectations are met.
  • Utility Coordination: Liaise with public utility providers, local authorities, and design teams to ensure timely delivery of electricity, public lighting, gas, water, and telecommunications services to new developments.
  • Service Modifications: Anticipate and manage modifications of existing site services and coordinate mains service diversions with utility providers.
  • Innovation & Value Engineering: Contribute to innovation and value engineering processes to implement best-in-class mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Temporary Services Management: Oversee the management of temporary electrical and water systems on site.
