
Building Services Engineer (M&E)

Pareto FM is seeking a skilled and proactive Building Services Engineer to join our team, supporting a portfolio of client sites across London.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

As a Building Services Engineer, you’ll act as a key point of contact on site, supporting both the client and internal teams while ensuring all building services are maintained to a high standard.
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across building systems
Managing maintenance requests from start to completion, providing clear updates to clients and FM teams
Acting as the first point of response for M&E and fabric issues
Conducting statutory, mandatory and insurance inspections
Maintaining accurate records across CAFM systems, logbooks and technical documentation
Ensuring all works are completed safely, to standard and within budget
Supporting permit to work systems and H&S processes
Supervising and managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with RAMS
Providing regular updates and reports to the Facilities Manager
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
Supporting a range of workplace tasks to ensure business continuity
Proven experience in a Building Services Engineer / Facilities Maintenance role
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
Experience delivering both PPM and reactive maintenance
Confident managing and supervising contractors and suppliers
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive, flexible and “can-do” attitude
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
IOSH Managing Safely
Knowledge of mechanical/plumbing systems and building construction
Experience working in a client-facing environment
A varied role across multiple sites — no two days are the same
