PROFESSIONAL STAFF POSITIONS
TITLE: Building Secretary - Technology Department
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Good personal appearance with avoidance of extremes in dress and actions.
3. Ability to pass Grammar, Spelling, Math, Office Filing/Sorting, Proofreading and Computer Applications tests at 70%
4. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving desktop hardware, chromebooks, iPads, projectors, software, and minor networking issues
5. Knowledge of electronic communication, computer applications, Google Apps.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Director of Instructional Technology
JOB GOAL:
Provide clerical and administrative support to district personnel as assigned.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- * Maintain a cheerful and friendly telephone and face to face contact with the general public, parents, district employees and students.
- * Keep informed regarding all district activities.
- *Keep informed of all new district electronic capabilities.
- * Provide accurate information to the general public and students regarding district services and related programs.
- * Refer individual inquiries to immediate supervisor for problem-solving, proper information and/or services.
- * Must have good judgment; be able to maintain confidentiality; be dependable and honest; and maintain a professional attitude toward the whole organization.
- * Must be willing to be a team player.
- Assume responsibility for the prompt and accurate performance of work where delays and errors would result in direct impairment of service to the public.
- Make appointments for immediate supervisor.
- Provide assistance to administrative superiors in handling public contacts and complaints.
- Reset Passwords for all staff and students as appropriate.
- Print and post events at ASC weekly.
- Maintain, complete and process payroll for the Technology Department employees.
- Maintain evaluation records, documents and supporting materials for all evaluations completed by the Director of Technology & Media Services.
- * Lead and provide appropriate training for other secretarial staff. This will include but is not limited to:
- * Train building secretaries in the efficient and appropriate use of Google Spreadsheets.
- * Train building secretaries in the efficient and appropriate use of Google Documents.
- * Train building secretaries in the efficient and appropriate use of Google Drive.
- * Train building secretaries in the efficient and appropriate use of Google Calendar.
- * Train building secretaries in the efficient and appropriate use of Google Drawings.
- * Train building secretaries in the efficient and appropriate use of Google Forms.
- * Provide training and support for the online component of the non-instructional evaluation process.This will include but is not limited to:
* Creating new editions for each course annually.
* Providing telephone support for all end users.
* Creating step sheets to provide additional support.
* Elevating privileges for Evaluators as needed.
- * Support all on-line components developed and/or delivered by the Technology Department.
- Train and support users on phone settings and use.
- Assist parents and students of Dearborn Virtual K12 program with assignment, repairs, and return or exchange of chromebooks.
- * Provide training and support for MyPD:
- * Update dates as appropriate
- * Create and maintain courses as appropriate
* Add/Delete and edit permissions for users.
- Assist with the implementation of the Professional Development Tracking site to include updating information, approving submissions, training and other support.
- Assist in the creation and updating of HelpSheets for various online tools and skills.
- Assist with permissions on school and department web sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
