We are looking for a Building Operations Assistant (BOA) to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The incumbent would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The Building Operations Assistant (BOA) plays an important role within a team working towards supporting the researchers, engineers, and technicians in fulfilling their project goals and obligations. This role is focused on results, but also understand that assisting the client in achieving their larger goals is a success.
The incumbent will be expected to coordinate and handle all stores, shipping and receiving needs of the client and property as well as create RPPM Purchase Requests (PR) for goods, and service and construction contracts. The successful candidate will also do security screening of all staff and contractors, invoicing, surplus of retired equipment, quotes, operation of pallet jack to move material around, and coordination of day-to-day activities. In addition to these tasks, you will be expected to help support the Operations team at times with: meeting minutes, organization of meeting agendas, escorting contractors, assisting with small physical maintenance tasks, performing monthly inspections, set ups and teardowns for the client, preparing office space and monitoring accessibility for new hires, etc. You will be handling many priorities as we have a very busy and diverse work site.
The Building Operations Assistant typically works a 37.5-hours work week with only the occasional need for overtime – but no shift work, and no regularly scheduled weekends.
