Position Type: Part Time, Temporary

& RESPONSIBILITIES

The Building Operations & Maintenance Associate will support efforts around the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of KFI’s building systems, equipment, and infrastructure in the Roseville office. This role assists the Field Materials and Special Projects Administrator with day-to-day facility operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, responds to service requests, and assists in optimizing building performance to support occupant comfort and operational excellence. Regular engagement with KFI leaders, administration department staff, vendors, and occupants is required.

In addition to supporting ongoing building operations, the associate may also be asked to contribute to project based work within the Performance Group. This work may include assisting with HVAC system testing, functional performance evaluations, troubleshooting, and other technical field activities that improve the performance and reliability of client facilities.

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Equipment Operations & Maintenance

  • Observe and learn the basics of building operations support, building access and safety control systems in collaboration with IT department.
  • Assist with tracking and observing scheduled maintenance for continued operations and to extend equipment life.


Vendor Coordination

  • Assist staff with organizing external contractors and vendors for specialized repair to help ensure building operations adhere to local, state, and federal codes (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Assist with maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.


Facility Support

  • Assist with the maintenance of safe, clean, and organized mechanical rooms and work areas.


Training

  • Participate in training, internal and external.

Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School Diploma.
  • Strong interest in facilities work.
  • Willingness to learn HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems basics.
  • Willingness to achieve OSHA 10 certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with tenants, management, and staff.
  • Desire to learn and build on their skill sets.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or in extreme temperatures.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Travel: less than 5% percent domestically if needed to support other office facilities-related or project work.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and building codes.
  • Familiar with Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Technical training or pursuing associate degree in facilities management or a related discipline.

Working Conditions

  • Some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.

Compensation $17.74 -18.50 per hour. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications, experience, work location, and education. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
