About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join Glenelg Shire Council as a Building Officer, playing a key role in the maintenance, improvement and renewal of Council-owned buildings and facilities. Working within the Infrastructure Unit and based primarily in Portland, you will help ensure community infrastructure remains safe, compliant and fit for purpose through the coordination of maintenance programs, inspections, contractor management and capital works projects.

What you need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring experience or knowledge in property, facilities or building maintenance, together with strong organisational and administrative skills.

You will be able to manage competing priorities, coordinate contractors and maintenance activities, and provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication skills, confidence using computer systems, an understanding of OH&S requirements, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.

A relevant qualification, current Victorian Driver’s Licence, and the ability to participate in an after-hours on-call roster will also support your success in this position
