Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Wrexham to assist with the appointment of a Building Maintenance Officer, on a 7.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £18.70 - £24.52 per hour

Hours per Week: 21

The Building Maintenance Officer role will cover reactive, planned, legislative and cyclical maintenance, as well as supporting new-build, refurbishment and improvement schemes. The postholder will provide technical advice, contribute to procurement and tendering activities, prepare specifications and cost plans, and assist with the delivery of maintenance and capital programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional building surveying and maintenance service to the Education & Early Intervention Department.
  • Work closely with the Access & School Places Team and Building Maintenance Team within Assets.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on building maintenance matters to Council officers, clients and external organisations.
  • Procure and organise planned and reactive maintenance and refurbishment works.
  • Assist with the design, detailing and preparation of technical specifications for maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Receive, record, monitor and respond to technical queries and maintenance job requests.

Qualification:

  • Professional qualification or significant relevant experience in Building Surveying, Building Maintenance or a related property discipline.

Essentials

  • Demonstrable experience providing building surveying or technical building maintenance services.
  • Experience of planned, reactive and cyclical building maintenance.
  • Experience of refurbishment and improvement works.
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, tender documentation, estimates and cost plans.
  • Experience supporting procurement and contractor management.
