
University of Iowa Housing & Dining is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic III.This position will be full time with a primary schedule of 8:00am-4:30pm Monday – Friday. May need to be on-call or work overtime as needed. This position would be responsible for the inspection and preventative maintenance and repair of commercial custodial equipment.
Job Duties:
Inspects, maintains, and makes operating repairs on electrical equipment and wiring, plumbing fixtures and pipe, heating, air conditioning and ventilating equipment, etc.
Performs preventive maintenance on motors, pumps, and other equipment, and maintains appropriate records.
Performs preventive maintenance and emergency repair work.
Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Performs work in related crafts areas as assigned.
Assists in directing the work of others
Responds to calls for emergency repair services. Must be able to report within 1 hour to work location when on call.
