MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering, Building Construction, Facilities Management or related degree OR equivalent experience is required
  • Three or more years of experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing maintenance and/or building maintenance and management
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HVAC, plumbing and /or electrician license
  • Certification in facilities management or a related field
  • Building Automation Systems experience
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices
  • Experience with Capital Projects

Examples of duties

The Building Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of Fulton County Sheriff's Office facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of building systems, a keen eye for detail, and excellent organizational skills. The manager will ensure the smooth operation of the facilities, maintain a safe and clean environment, and manage all maintenance operations and activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Maintenance:

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and extend the life of building assets.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services.
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prioritize maintenance projects based on budget constraints.

Facility Inspections:

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Emergency Response:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios, such as fires, floods, and power outages.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and building occupants during emergencies.
  • Answers and responds to any emergency calls after normal working hours and ensures necessary repairs are performed.
