
HOURLY RANGE: $25.72 - $36.77
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves performing work in the skilled plumbing trade, on a journeyman level, in the maintenance and repair of building systems, equipment and facilities. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level supervisory employee or department head that assigns and inspects work for conformance with procedures and standards. Supervises and trains lower-level maintenance workers and laborers assigned to assist in the performance of plumbing and related work. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good knowledge of the tools, terminology, procedures and equipment of the skilled plumbing maintenance and repair trades; ability to make a variety of skilled repairs and installations rapidly and accurately; ability to read and interpret plans, blue prints and specifications; ability to get along well with others; mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; initiative and resourcefulness; industry and dependability; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Elementary education and three (3) years of experience working as an apprentice Maintenance Worker in the skilled
plumbing trade.
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements
