Building Facilities Maintenance – Tamworth Correctional Centre

Location: Tamworth Correctional Centre

Employment typeFull-time Ongoing 5D (5 Days)
Salary: $105,040.00 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation

Your role:

We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Senior Trade Overseer to work within the Facilities Maintenance Building Unit at the Tamworth Correctional Centre

What you’ll do:

Join an organisation with a rich history where your trade experience is valued. Senior Trade Overseers are trade qualified Correctional Officers with the essential role of using your trade skills to work with and supervise inmates and other staff to undertake programmed and reactive maintenance tasks essential to keep the correctional centre operational.

Provide leadership and mentoring to Overseers, and supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them, as members of a team, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance their post-release employment prospects, and contribute productively to Business Unit objectives.

Qualifications Required:

  • Current Certificate III or higher in Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III level).
  • Must possess relevant construction based trade (Building, Plumbing, HVAC etc..)
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within specified timeframes
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence and preparedness to drive to locations as required, including other regional correctional centres.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven post trade experience
  • Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the Senior Overseer role description.
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Work overtime when required, work flexibly across trades to meet operational needs.
  • Experience in maintenance services or related trade activity.
  • Willingness to participate in a cyclic 24/7 on call roster
