Job Description

The Building Engineer operates and maintains the physical systems, i.e. HVAC (centrifuge chillers and pumps), air compressors, air handlers, A/C package units, plumbing supply and waste, electrical, lighting, heating coils and convection units and pneumatic controls. The incumbent monitors the Halon, water detection, and cooling systems. The incumbent also maintains and repairs industrial kitchen and refrigeration equipment as well as constructs and modifies office furniture and workstations.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Acts as first contact by CME Security in event of emergencies (flood, power outage, equipment, escaltor, elevator failures) and alarms (UPS, Halon, water detection, smoke).
• Inspects computer facilities and labs to minimize potential equipment failures daily.
• Maintains the comfort and safety of the trading floor staff and office staff through daily inspections of HVAC equipment , daily maintenance on all equipment and continual monitoring of temperature and air quality.
• Performs light construction, carpentry, painting and remodeling of furniture.
• Resolves trading floor and staff complaints.

The pay range for this role is $32.06--$53.41. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
